At Mimpi Indah, sustainability is part of everything we do, how we build, work, and welcome our guests. We believe a resort should live with nature, not at its expense. Using natural island materials, preserving vegetation, and blending into the landscape are at the heart of our approach. True sustainability begins with respect for nature, people, and the local community. Most of our team comes from nearby villages, creating meaningful jobs and supporting local livelihoods. Our restaurant uses produce from our garden and small local farmers. We minimize waste, avoid plastic, and recycle wherever possible. Every choice follows one principle: to protect what we love. Sustainability, for us, isn’t about giving up comfort but about connection, to the land, the sea, and the people of Bangka. Staying at Mimpi Indah means helping preserve this island’s natural beauty for generations to come.

Our land
From the start, our goal was to build a small, sustainable resort that feels part of its natural surroundings. We preserved much of the original vegetation and used materials from our own land like bamboo, hardwood, and stone, crafted by local builders. The result is a tranquil place where nature and comfort live in harmony.
Our water
Water is life, and here it comes straight from the heart of the island. Three deep wells provide crystal-clear freshwater for our bungalows, kitchen, and gardens, supplemented by rainwater collection during the wet season. This self-sufficient system keeps everything flowing naturally, clean, sustainable, and in harmony with the island.
Our Energy & Sustainability
The resort runs almost entirely on solar power, storing excess energy in batteries for use day and night. During cloudy periods, a quiet generator ensures continuous comfort. Every light and fan is powered by the sun; clean, reliable, and in harmony with Bangka’s natural beauty.
Coral Reef Conservation
Bangka’s reefs are among the most vibrant in Indonesia, teeming with colorful coral and marine life. At Mimpi Indah, we support coral restoration with the Suara Pulau Foundation and work with PADI and local divers to promote responsible diving, helping preserve the island’s underwater beauty for generations to come.
