Full-Day Tour to Tangkoko Nature Reserve
Including transport, lunch & professional wildlife guide

Just a short 30-minute boat ride from Bangka Island lies the gateway to one of North Sulawesi’s most remarkable natural areas: the Tangkoko Batuangus Nature Reserve. From the mainland, a comfortable one-hour drive brings you to the entrance of this protected rainforest spanning more than 8,700 hectares.

Accompanied by an experienced local ranger, you’ll explore ancient volcanic slopes covered in lush jungle that stretch all the way to the black-sand coastline. Tangkoko is one of the few places on Earth where you can encounter the spectral tarsier—the world’s smallest primate—in its natural habitat. You may also spot black crested macaques, Sulawesi bear cuscus, and colorful hornbills gliding through the canopy.

During the day, your guide will share the unique history of this reserve, first established in 1919, and the ongoing conservation work that protects its rare wildlife. Around midday, you’ll enjoy an included lunch in the local village, before continuing deeper into the forest to visit different observation points.

In the late afternoon, you’ll head back to the coast for your return boat trip to Bangka Island.
